I lost 27.5 lbs but

I started my weight loss journey late March and have lost half the weight I set out to lose. One of the reason I chose to lose weight was because I was tired of hearing "when is your due date". I am 49 I think not. The problem is at 205 I was a size 16 and now at 177.6 I am still a size 16. I am 5' 6" and I feel 55 lbs will not be enough to lose the belly. When I look in the mirror I don't see a difference . Anyone else experience this?

I'm 5'3" and started in a size 14 at 212 lbs. I'm now 187 and still wearing a size 14 although the 12's are getting close.

My first goal was to lose 72 lbs and once I reach that goal I will see how I look and how I feel.

And, yes, when I look in the mirror I don't see much of a difference although everyone else says I look smaller.

Keep doing what you're doing, you've made great progress so far.

Hmm that's odd you lost so much weight and your size didn't go down. Do you feel bloated? Just keep doing what your doing. 55lbs is a lot and will make a difference in your body when you lose it.

We sound like twins! 48 years old, started at 204 down to 173 and stalled. I've been doing this since Feb. 2015 and my mom still hasn't noticed! I've gone down in pants from a 14 to 12 and smaller tops. Good luck, it's so hard but worth it when someone finally notices

With sizes above 10/12, one may have to lose a bit more weight to size down compared to sizes below that. Though, I would think with your loss you would have gone down a size. How about your shirt/bra size? Have your measurements anywhere else changed?

I started at 205lb, current weight is 176lbs and I am wearing a size 12. I still have a belly but it's going down and so is my back fat. Keep up with the weight loss and you will lose it.

There is a BIG difference between 177.6 and 155, so there's that.

I'm your height. I don't have any pics at my highest weight, but I'm 147.2 on the left, 142 in the middle, and 137 on the right. You can see where the big difference came!

Thanks for the replies. I am definitely an apple shape and I knew it was going to take time to lose the belly. My shirts are a little looser and I am having a hard time keeping my rings on. My goal is to be a size 10 and I am going to keep going until I make that happen.

My bet is that the next ten pounds are going to make a BIG difference.

Oh, and on a sad note, I hear that with menopause, the fat tends to settle around the belly. So there's that.
