Bulking

i'm on a 3 on, 1 off program that I saw great progress with for the first few weeks, gaining five pounds and setting records I hadn't hit since i was in high school playing linebacker. It's set up is chest/arms, legs, backs/shoulder.

Anyway, I'm up to 200 pounds at 6 ft, but I've struggled to make any real change one way or the other since. According to fitness pal, and my fitbit, I should be eating around 3700 calories a day. I struggle to get in 3000 on a normal day; but it's all really healthy food- tilapia, chicken breast, oats, brown rice. I'm really struggling to hit my carbohydrate goal, and wanted to know if there are any quick, cheap, and easy made carbs (while healthy also and complex) that I could pick up at the store next time out. I'm a college student, so esse is essential. I have a stove and microwave, and look forward to your suggestions! Thank you!

Side note: any opinion on pro supps incredibulk? Picked it up yesterday for its high carbs, and take one scoop with a scoop of optimum nutrition Gold Standard for a 530 calorie, 85 carb, 40 protein shake.

Yes these would be ideal after training. A good way to ingest extra calories and at a time when the body acts like a sponge and sucks up those extra nutrients.

Hi Chris. I'm currently bulking too and was struggling to hit my required carb intake. I'm now eating Rice Krispies as a carb filler which is better balancing out my macros but I still sometimes find it a struggle.

What % do you have your carbs set at @ChrisPadgettmfp ? I have mine set at 50% and I'm on 4,000 calories daily. Usually have no problem reaching the carb level most days. I fill up most of my days with potatoes, brown rice, pasta, whole grain bread, bananas x 2, apple, pear, oats/porridge x 3 scoops.

Your problem appears to be that you are trying to get the majority of your calories from foods that are not calorie dense. I would suggest adding in bagels, pasta, avocado, peanut butter, whole milk, nuts, ice cream, etc, etc.

You need to make sure that your micro/macro needs are being met, but on a bulk, calories are king. Two servings of talenti gelato is 400 calories, add in a 200 calorie bagel in the morning and you are at 3600...
