Holiday Next week

Hiya,
I'm going on holiday next week for a week and didn't know what to do about my weight loss. I have come up with an idea and wanting peoples opinion on it?
I Won't have access to the internet so it will be very hard to keep track of the Calories and fat I have eaten/ am eating. So I am going to eat what I want for my 3 main meals (Within reason) and watch my portion sizes! I am also going to watch what snacks I eat. The main difference will be drinking as I will be having Cider in the evenings at the 'Club house' but to try and even this out I am going to use the gym they have on site, go swimming, walking etc... At least 90 mins every day!
I don't want to ruin my holiday by not eating what I fancy & sticking to my diet, it will drive me crazy, Then when I return for a few weeks I will reduce my daily calorie intake by 100-200 cals to get back on track!

that sounds good to me, I am going on holiday in five weeks and planning to swim and run around with my 4 year old. other thanthat though I am going to not stress, for me its one week a year. I will be sensible and not undo bad work but I want to enjoy my time and not beat myself up if I gain a lb..see what difference it has made when you get back as to whether you drop calories, and most importantly have a lovely holiday!0

Hi!
I went through a similar thing recently with a week away.
I chose not to fork out for internet in the hotel room and instead to have a holiday from logging as well. I was lucky enough for there to be a huge gym in the resort, so I went 5 out of the 7 mornings, really went for it in the knowledge that I'd be getting in my bikini all week, and pretty much made good, but relaxed food choices.
Not only did I have the lovely feeling of being able to eat more calories, but I actually got up early most days of the holiday, making it feel longer, and more exciting. Having a bit of extra sleep on holiday is REALLY important for me, but i had a nap in the afternoons in the shade and that did me fine
I came home having lost a few inches, which is absolutely, categorically, the first time I have not put on weight on holiday.
Seeing as the last thing you want to do is get stressed, I agree that you shouldn't watch too closely what you eat, I suppose just put those new habits into action with regards to healthier choices, but as long as you're keeping active, you should be able to eat well.
Have a great time!0 -
I'm going away next week too. I plan on enjoying myself at meals, but watching portion sizes like you said. I too will be doing a ton of walking and swimming, which will help too! I was also thinking of trying to have a fruit plate at breakfast. Every little bit helps! Enjoy your vacation!0

I never watch what I eat on holiday. It's a time for enjoying yourself, after all. Be good in the weeks before you go and after, that's all.0
