I need a kick in the backside

I've been doing great. Lost 20 pounds. Lifting weights regularly. Tracking my food. But the last few weeks I've just not been doing well. Eating a lot of junk although I track it. But my attitude isn't right. I've been doing this since January and I'm ok with the slow loss. I want healthy habits to last a lifetime. But I'm backsliding! Please give me some words of wisdom!

Everyday is a new day! If you mess up one day (or a few days, in your case), there's always tomorrow to try again. However, don't use "tomorrow" as an excuse or a backfall. Do what you can today so you're even better the next time!

Begin weening yourself off junk foods and buying alternatives (hopefully I'm not the only one who gets excited about trying new foods/snack foods!). Make a trip of it and head to the grocery store -- on a full stomach, I should add -- and choose some new snack foods to pick on instead of junk food.

And if you feel a craving come off, check out this list (It's things you can do instead of snacking): http://pepperscraps.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/do-this.png

    Good luck!

Look at your before photos. 20lbs down, your before photos will hopefully be a reminder of why you're doing this.

Also, Start back at square one! It's ok to start again! If you are falling backwards and can't grab hold of something then just take a step back. Get your footing & start again. What do I mean? Start planning your meals ahead of time again. Make your next week's shopping list today. Get all the bad habit snacks out of your house! Join a Fitness Challenge group to get yourself motivated to keep up with new & different challenges daily. Look at the Success Stories Message Boards. Get the app on your phone and get some daily motivating friends! You can do this girl!!! If you want a daily kick in the butt(or just a message asking how you're doing.) Add me. =) I'm always up to give daily support, lord knows I need it too! Hope this helps.

Take a good look at your current situation and attitude. What is causing this slacking attitude? Is it stress? Is it boredom? A combination of both?

Change your situation and do a reset. If it's boredom, find things to do. If it's stress, find ways to relieve it. If it is unclear what's going on, then spend time self reflecting.

Until you can identify the problem, the solution won't occur to you.

In the meantime, back away from the table, cabinets, fridge, whatever, and GET BACK TO WORK.

Thanks everyone. This is just what I needed to hear. I think I do need to change things up a bit. I've gotten kind of complacent with everything. So much of this whole journey is the mental games instead of what is going on physically. Jeez... Guess that's why they call it a journey, not a destination.

No problem! As you can see from my ticker tag, I'm not a fan of whining. I'm a fan of "doing". Am I always willing to do? Nope. Yesterday was a "eat whatever I want and not worry about it" kind of day. I never even finished tracking my food. I ate things I normally don't, and loved every minute of it.

Today, I'm back on the wagon.

Life is filled with ups and downs. It should be a fun ride, not a scary one.
