Starting my 'take back control' challenge today

Good morning!
I'm new here. Starting my personal 'take back control' challenge today. A little about me. I have quite a bit of history and success in weight loss. I ran an online Body-for-Life support forum for about 10 years. During that time my weight was mainly stable once I lost the initial weight.
I had to close the forum in 2011. That was like giving up a right arm. It was tough not having that accountability and support anymore. Various things happened in life and slowly the weight crept back on. I'm a big girl with a large frame so i can pack some weight and not necessarily look like it.
I had a spinal fusion t3-s1(which is nearly the whole spine) last september. So I'm about 9 months post op. It takes a full year or longer to recover from that kind of surgery. As far as exercise there is very little I can do. I can walk on a treadmill slowly or ride a bike slowly. Exercise is NOT where I will burn any calories.
this time around it's going to have to be 90% food control. I've sought assistance from some medical professionals just to monitor me. I'm not taking any medications and am using real foods supplemented with some protein shakes and bars. All stuff I've done before and am very familiar with. what I've lost over the last few years is my control around food. My ability to turn things down and make good choices in all circumstances. So that's what this challenge is about for me.
Technically the medical program doesn't begin till August 13th and will be 12 weeks from there. However I'm starting now to give myself a head start. It will be challenging..life always is..but I feel like I can do it.
It's a 1200 calorie diet..that will be an adjustment from the basic 'free for all' I've been living for a while. But I can do it. My husband will be on board with me as well. I hope together we can make a big difference in our lives.
I'm here looking for more support. Someone to talk with and help keep me focused and inline with what I need to be doing. So feel free to friend me.
Thanks in advance!
Stephanie
