1st: You cannot spot reduce fat. Your genetics dictate where it comes off of.
2nd: Swimming does not cause weight loss. A caloric deficit does. Read the stickies.

Swimming is a good form of exercise because it uses more of your muscle groups. Any exercise above that you used to do prior to your decision to make these life style changes will help. The longer the distance and greater the degree of effort you put in will contribute more to changes in your bodies conformation as build up your stamina. Were "belly fat" your only excess deposit it would begin to change with increased muscle tone over time, though additional fat is spread all over the body to reduce this a well tailored diet will be most beneficial.

I just answered your question, pretty much.

Are you eating your exercise calories back?

You're meant to eat back your exercise calories. You're netting 1200 calories approx, that is the minimum RDA net calories for a female.

At 12st10 5'10" you are already a pretty healthy weight. You should refigure your calorie allowance especially if you are not eating exercise calories back.

All that has been said is spot on. You need to eat more, especially with the swimming. You need extra calories just for temperature regulation if you're spending that much time in the pool.

I'm 5'10" and I cut easily on 2500 calories per day...as a male, you should definitely be eating more and one way or another accounting for your exercise.

I'm assuming you set your goal to lose 2 Lbs per week...keep in mind, it's a pretty aggressive goal...but beyond that, MFP calculates your calorie target based on your day to day hum drum and already has your weight loss deficit built in. As exercise is NOT included in your activity level (provided you set it correctly), it is an extra activity for which your calorie targets adjust accordingly...

so MFP is estimating your maintenance to be around 2,500 calories WITHOUT exercise...you need 1,000 calories per day deficit to lose about 2 Lbs per week so you're getting a target of 1,500 calories WITHOUT exercise. So let's say you swim and burn 350...your calorie target would increase to 1,500 + 350 = 1,850 but you would still maintain your 1,000 calorie deficit because your maintenance will have moved to 2,500 + 350 = 2,850.

All that said, you're already at a healthy weight ...if you want to cut a little fat for vanity reasons that's cool, but you should be much less aggressive with your plan...you don't have the requisite fat stores to maintain massive energy deficits and you're just going to torch a bunch of muscle mass in the process.

It's the belly overhang though hopefully no beer 2 months will help

OP seriously read the stickies. It's evident you don't fully understand weight loss.

Thing is eating more protein fills me especially with salad and veg. May just eat a spoon of peanut butter to boost calories. As it's sugar I'm cutting
