I played volleyball all throughout high school and now that I graduated I am done with sports but I still love working out everyday. I have felt with knee pain during my volleyball years but I just sucked it up. Now that I'm lifting heavy weights (mainly leg exercises) and doing things like JM 30 day shred and P90X I have noticed an increased pain in my knees and both of the knees click quite frequently.
My mom also has knee problems so it might be genetics.
I don't want to stop working out but my knees seem to be getting worse anyone know what I can do to fix this or make it more tolerable?

Where is the pain, what type of pain, etc. It could just be overuse related, try and ease up a bit for a period of time and see if it dissipates. If it doesn't, go to a specialist.0

Try going to a doctor--sports medicine would be a good choice. You may have some kind of physical/genetic thing that can be helped by orthotics or strengthening exercises. Don't ignore joint pain and hope it will go away, since you have to live with your joints for a very long time.0

I would definitely see a doctor. But knee pain now, could be a number of things....bad form is a possibility.
Both 30 Day Shred & P90X are high impact. You might need to slow down (to focus on form), swap out some lower impact moves, and build up gradually to all higher impact. Lots of horror stories about people blowing out their knees doing shred (squat form).
I'm older so lower impact is a fact of life for me. I like my rebounder (Jump Sport) for higher impact moves.
There are videos for strengthening knees and knee re-hab.....0 -
^^^yep, what he said!! I've had knee issues and surgery a couple times, best to get it figured out before you make it worse!!!!0

I agree with @TeaBea, form and technique are often huge culprits in knee pain. It could also be an imbalance or a gait pattern issue. It could be from crappy sneakers etc. My suggestion: go to your doctor to rule out injury and then start working your way through other possibilities once injury is ruled out.0
