MFP calories or recipe book calories?

Hi all,

When you cook do you rely on the recipe book you are using (if using one) as most modern recipe books include nutrition figures on each recipe. Or do you prefer to use the MFP recipe creator and get the nutrition figures from that.

I ask because tonight our main is Bacon Chops in Apple and Cider sauce. The book gives a whopping 1140 calories per portion which would put it out of bounds for me unless I have half a portion.
Putting the same recipe into MFP gives 545 calories per portion, much more manageable.

I have noticed minor differences in nutrition values before but they are, largely, insignificant.

The figures in the book are almost twice that of MFP across the board, carbs, fats etc.

I go by MFP because the book values are generic, and when I add it on MFP I can add all my right brands, the exact cut of meat I used etc.
