How do you keep track of calories burned? When I run I use a ap that keeps track of my distance and speed and gives me an estimate of calories burned.
But how do you figure out other exercises...heart rate monitor?

A heart rate monitor is designed for steady state cardio - it would be a good estimate for running. They really aren't good estimates for other things. Just log your exercise in MFP and adjust down. Many people start by eating back 50%. If their weight loss is faster than expected....eat more. If your weight loss slows...eat less.
