Or a similar cut for other surgical purposes such as myself for my kidney donation...

So, I'm about 6 months out from surgery and still have no feeling in the skin from the scar all the way up to my belly button (surgeon said he's heard of people only starting to get feeling back after a year or so....i've heard plenty of people say they never got it back at all. oh joy. THAT'S something they didn't mention before slicing me open)....anyway....in about the last month or so the whole area (down to about 2 inches below the scar) now feels almost like it's bruised. I was never sore before, not even immediately following the surgery, so this is new. I'm just wondering if there's anyone else who look a long time to get feeling back and could speak to whether or not this would be the normal progression of things. Is it likely that the bruisey feeling is a precursor to getting feeling back in the nerves at skin level? or is that a pipe dream?

I did have a numb spot for a LONG time after my C section. I think it was close to the year mark when I got feeling back. I don't remember it feeling bruised however. Sorry I couldn't help.

I had some numbness but it came back. There was no bruised feeling I was aware of. I don't even really know when, but it hasn't even been a year yet (almost  )
I do remember reading somewhere about how we are never told that you need to work on reconnecting with the muscles/nerves in the area. I don't remember at all where I read it or how to do it. Maybe search around for ideas like that.
    Sorry, not much help.

thanks y'all....i also have an odd fist sized alien baby bump lump where the scar is ....the surgeon tried to tell me it was a "muscle tone" issue...but i literally went from flat to having this exact asymmetrical lump when i woke up half an hour after the surgery... and aside from the size of the lump decreasing as the swelling went down, the lump has remained, in the form it took right after me being sewn back up. i'm gonna have to go ahead and say that's not my muscle's fault :P lol.

It kinda sounds like scar tissue problem under the skin and if that's the case then only way to fix is if they go back in and correct it. I would get a second opinion from a different dr and see what they say. I have had three c sections and a uterus surgery and have had a slight lump and pucker once and they corrected it when I had another c section. I never felt bruised though and for me...I am unfortunetly completely numb in that whole area above and below my incision scar. Hope you get it checked out:)

i have my 6 month post surgery testing and whatnot coming up in about a week and part of what the donor team requires is a bp reading sent from my family doctor, so i'll ask her about it....and in turn she will probably add a note to the stuff has to send the team to ask THEM about it because she'll have no idea. lol
