Low Impact HIIT ideas (ankle injury)

Hey folks finding it difficult to find ideas for workouts and hitting a wall with inspiration so here I am!
Did find one seated kettlebell routine I really like (some moves are killing my weak little arms) but looking for very low impact ideas for legs too. I'm currently nursing a strained ankle and it's generally an issue (I'm two years post ankle & knee surgery).
Thought of kickbacks and side leg raises but wondering about my quads? Would front leg raises be good? (I really should just try stuff out but again I thought picking the combined MFP community wouldn't be a bad idea).
Any advice in general on HIIT?
Thanks in advance & I'm looking for more motivation buddies so hit me up please

I am too post knee and ankle surgery but they dont hurt much, if I dont run. So, I do regular weightlifting exercises, sorry of no help here.
For HIIT, I do a Precor AMT machine - it's similar to an elliptical but with foot bases on flexible straps instead of fixed arms. This machine allows me to practically run without the impact of running. I do HIIT on it - get my HR over 90% for 1 min followed by 2 min of easy walking0 -
Can you ride a bike? You could alternate the tension/gears and intensity and get a good workout.0

I would be very wary about higher (harder) gears on a road or stationary bike with a bum ankle, although I guess it would depend on the nature of the sprain.
OP, what about swimming or pool running?
