What are some easy to prepare and healthy salty snack foods?

I've been mostly trying to eat whole foods and staying away from candy, bread, fried/breaded foods, potato chips, etc.

For protein every day I eat a combination of meats and nuts.

However, my body craves from time to time a salty snack and for whatever reason the canonical ones are usually unhealthy: potato chips, pretzels, popcorn chicken, fried calamari, etc.

When I want something sugary, I can just have some fruit or juice.

But what do I eat when I want something salty to snack on that isn't nuts and doesn't take any time to prepare and must also be somewhat healthy?

Edamame with salt sprinkled on it. If you bake it and let it cool, it's the closest thing to nuts I've found. :)

I take a bag of cashews on bike rides along with gel packs and water

Cashews have salt sugar and proteins with fat.

    Good energy blend

Also, spiced cashew nuts taste ah-ma-zing...

popcorn, you can get the skinny pop brand, its 39 calories a cup, gmo free, all that stuff for people who care lol and tastes really good. I buy it for my night time snacking as I too skip the chips, crackers, pasta and breads.

I just add a little salt to peanut butter and eat it with apples.

Peanut butter and apples? I am stealing that idea *yoink*

I am a massive fan of potato chips (or crisps as I call them over here) and tortilla style are the best (Doritos yes please) but clearly they aren't particularly good for you. Salted nuts would be my next stop so at least I get some protein and fats in there. After that then beef jerky would be next on my list.

Chipotle's guacamole is a very satisfying snack that takes about 10 minutes to make. You can keep prep time short by using jalopena slices from a jar, bottled lemon juice and some of a part cut up onion from the frig. I use salted cucumber slices to dip.

It is not low calorie, but with the crunch of the cucumber, the salt, the fat in the avocado and a lime & jalopeno kick - you know you have had a snack and it kills any grazing instinct after eating!
