Allergic to something in baked food

whenever I eat something baked, I have this weird sensation all over my body. I can't really explain but it's really uncomfortable feeling. I had 1/3 of magnolia bakery red velvet cake yesterday night and today morning a croissant. I stopped eating this croissant after it started giving me mild pain in stomach but it's the easiest thing to eat in morning. I checked the ingredients and I don't find anything really bad in it. (Vegetable shortening, quick 75, essence, flour, eggs and food color)

I have noticed same feeling if I use chickpeas or lentils from the can. I always attributed it to sodium because I get swelling after using such stuff. However for baked things.... I cannot really figure out. What do you guys think it could be?

All of those (have ingredients that) are in the grain family...? (flour for the cake/croissant, and chickpeas/lentils are grains) That might be something to look into..? I really don't know from this little information. Good luck!

See an allergist. They would be the one to tell you what your allergy is.

Just stay away from the things that make you feel tingly (a sure sign of allergic reaction). Gluten sensitivity makes some sense, but if you do fine with pasta and bread, that wouldn't be the cause. Maybe just avoid the things as you find them.

You might try eating each of those ingredients separately to see which one is causing you problems.

Get tested for allergies and find out what it really is.

I don't eat pasta or bread. But occasionally when I do eat processed white flour bread, I feel similar feeling. I just do fine with brown bread.

Does it mean I should get my self tested?

    It's not the cooking method

    It's the food

Try baked fish and see what happens

The only way to determine allergies is to be tested. You can get the skin test, blood test , or both.

Allergies and sensitivities are not the same thing, it sounds like you have a sensitivity.
