Grandma's Marathon/Duluth MN

So I'm running the half this weekend. I have heard a rumor that after the full the runners jump into Lake Superior (which I can't imagine, so cold!!!) Just curious if anyone here has ever ran the race and can contest to that or not :)

    Can't confirm or deny.

Have you ever run the 1/2 in Brainerd. The best 1/2 I've ever run.

No I haven't. The only other race I did in MN was the 10 miler..can't remember whats it called, but you run from "Minneapolis to St. Paul"

I think that the same day as the Marathon.

The 1/2 in Brainerd is a trail race through an Arboretum, would take it hands down over Grandma's, but that's me.

I haven't done a half trail race yet, but that is one of my goals, but have to run a marathon first. After Grandma's probably signing up for my first full.

I may have to look at brainard for a trail half

Grandma's weekend in Duluth is the best. I've never run it (want to do the half next summer), but lived there for 5 years and know many people who run it every year. The lake isn't *that* cold.
It's a blast. Especially if you have someone waiting along the finish with a nice cold brewski to hand off!

So is it true the runners jump into the lake? if so is it tyically just the runners of the full? Just trying to prepare myself
