Fell off the wagon- HARD.

Sigh!
So I've been on and off MFP for a few years now. I started off strong and over the course of a couple years of flip flopping I managed to go from 190 lbs to 135. That was just ten pounds away from my goal weight.
I went through a very traumatic event, sunk into a real low place with my depression again, and before I knew it I had completely fallen off the eating healthy and working out wagon. I hadn't really even realized that I'd strayed so far but suddenly I was 160 lbs again.
I've been struggling the last month to get back onto the eating better and working out train. Even though I KNOW I'm capable and I know it'll all be worth it, I hardly have it in me to just get back to it. It's such a struggle.
I don't know if I'm looking for tips, for words to push me.. I'm just at a loss!

This is what is working for me --log on good days and bad. The habit works.
Also lifting weights. I feel great about my progress and it motivates me with my food.0 -
You can do this. When I started back in Feb. I didn't think I would be able to stick with it this long. I still have a sweet snack daily but I make sure it's still within my calorie limit. I rode a bike for 2 hours this week something I haven't done since I was a teenager. It felt great. Don't give up you can do it.0

First up try to make it easy for yourself. If its easier to focus on eating better, then do that. If its easier to focus on exercise do that. Start keeping a food diary. I mean where you just log what you eat. Just doing this can help focus you and inspire you.
Keeping a food diary is my favourite way to lose weight. I cook. I buy lots of healthy foods. I try to eat nutritiously. I do'nt exercise too much to be honest because I can't keep that up indefinitely.
I do address my mood issues fairly quickly so that they don't go on for longer than necessary. I go see a councillor but it sounds like you are past that point now.
Try reading a nice diet book. I like French women don't get fat.
Decide to try going vegetarian for a while. I've been sort of vegetarian for a very long time and just recently i decided to try veganism which had been in my mind for a really long time but i was too cowardly about giving up milk. I'm going "Almost" vegan (i'm eating my neighbours homegrown eggs because he has happy chickens) and its motivating becuase its new and interesting and it hasn't been as hard as I thought. When you do make these changes you do have to do some serious and ongoing research though to make sure you are not going to be lacking in some vital nutrients. And when you make changes like this you have to learn again how to prepare food. So it all becomes a bit of an adventure.
Also one last thing, remember you don't have to cut your calories drastically to lose weight. You don't have to do a ton of exercise to lose weight.0
