You weren't mentally prepared. Probably a spur of the moment decision.

Making a change in habit requires a COMMITMENT to it. Will power goes along with that commitment. So how committed are you? If you hesitate and come up of reasons why "you can't", then you need to rethink as to why you're really doing this.
If you are committed, create a specific plan on how your going to achieve your goal. A goal of "I just want to lose weight" isn't specific.

    Good luck.

Knowledge makes it easier to understand how it all works, whats possible and realistic as well as what isnt.
Planning and preparation help make it easier to apply that knowledge.
Readying your mind so that you are focused and commited to deal with whats required are vital.

Do you wnat to lose the weight and be slim? Do you wnat it more than eating more food than you need? Are you prepared to control the amount of food you eat? You make a choice as you wnat one or the other more.

You cna make it easier by not going too agressively, being patient, making small gradual changes and taking it one day at a time. If you are struggling at one day, then it sounds like you havent prepared properly for your journey . Only start when you are ready, just logging your food without a limit is a start ti understand what you are consuming.
