Potassium and MFP

I was just looking over my nutrition reports for the past 6 months and realized that I haven't met my potassium requirement even once. I eat a healthy, balanced diet so I'm assuming that most of the food counts don't include the potassium information. It's a little disheartening though.

Anyone else?

Always. My mom and I were just having this conversation!! We were googling potassium rich foods and like "we eat that!!"

My potassium average last week was around 1200 or less. Maybe a multivitamin rich in potassium would make us superheroes

me as well....since i started on here i have been checking my potassium now and then.I know i need more and pretty much always have.i sometimes have an egg and a diced potato with skin on made into hashbrowns in the morning.on those days i always come close to meeting,or meet my potassium requirements.1 medium skin on potato ranges from 700-900mg potassium and is approx 150 calories(i weigh mine to get accurate)

Potassium isn't legally required to be on the nutritional information so lots of companies don't include it.
On MFP whole foods (fruits, veggies, meats) the entries with USDA in the title tend to include it.

If you're using labels and not usda entries, you may have taken in more potassium than it shows.

But most Americans don't get enough potassium, so you might be low (as the numbers go, not necessarily clinically low) all the same.

I use the USDA figures as much as possible and found it was something I didn't eat even close to enough of. More potatoes for me! :)
