hi all, I've just signed up to this, does it work? Every year I tell myself I'm not going to have a fat summer and guess what I do! It's all those naughty but nice temptations and I'm sooooo weak!
not good.

Hi Clare! Welcome to MFP. YES, counting calories works - as long as you're consistent in your logging and honest with yourself.
I came to MFP several years ago more than 70 pounds overweight. I am now much healthier and at my lowest adult weight ever (I weigh less now than when I graduated high-school and joined the military), and am scheduled to run a half marathon later this summer. All thanks to MyFitnessPal, and the fact that I logged consistently and was as honest with myself as I could be. You CAN do this. :flowerforyou:
