Well, I came on here not needing a diet, but soon after I started posting I hurt my foot and that tremendously reduced my activity level. I hardly left home for a week, had to put my running and dancing on hold. I've tried to stay active with hula hooping because I didn't want to lose all my hard won C25K fitness, and once my foot got a bit better I added in Jillian Michaels routines.

But not having been on a diet, I failed to consider that my much lower levels of activity meant I should eat less. Oops. Looks like I am trending upwards and now have 5 lbs to lose. I doubt it's all water weight from Jillian Michaels!

So, don't be like me if you get hurt! Remember that suddenly eliminating exercise probably means you need fewer calories in!

    Hi:
    I feel your pain.
Sometime ago, I had 3 leg surgeries due to a car accident. I could not use that leg for solid 5 months and most of my exercise muscle was lost, the impacted leg calf specially went down to a mere subsistence level. Very discouraging to say the least.
I was able to recover my leg muscle. It took me almost 2 years to have symmetrical calf measurements.
Also, my body weight went up. That did not bother me so much as my leg muscle loss.
That was 4 years ago. I am in Maintenance now. I am thankful that I am alive and I can walk.
Good luck in your healthy journey
