Advice on Vivofit 2 sync with MFP

I'm struggling getting my Vivofit 2 to work well with MFP. The calories are all over the place!
For example, if you look at my diary from yesterday, It has 0 for the Garmin adjustment, even though I had 18,004 steps. I don't have the HRM, so I don't expect to see specific activity tracking from the Garmin. I added in my gym time and mulching on MFP, and I feel like the calories were pretty well accounted for.
But then today, I've only taken 1957 steps so far, and the Garmin added 944 calories in the Connect app, and 1135 in MFP. Are those somehow my extra calories from yesterday just now getting added in? And why are they different between the 2 apps?
Does anyone have any advice on how to make this work better?
Thanks in advance!

I have a vivofit 2 and only sunc with the garmin app once every night ..i noticed as my activity level increased garmin gave me no calorie adjustment for 10000 steps and upped my goal to 15000 steps..also when putting in workouts i have to make sure that i put in the correct time i workout so the garmin wont double count it..doesnt really answer your question i know but maybe uninstall/reinstall the garmin app to see if that helps0

Thanks for the response! I was on vacation & just saw it today I figured out the issue, and it was related to the workout time - somehow my sync time on the Garmin was set to GMT (0:00), rather than EST (-5:00). So it was showing that my workouts occurred 5 hours later than they actually did. That's why the Garmin pushed them to the next day.0

P.s. I am looking for some garmin connections to keep me motivated. The challenges on there are okay, But people drop off/out so fast.0
