TTC and lose weight
fifteenpounds
Posts: 3
Hi all,
I want to lose about 15 pounds. I am 5'5" and weight 145. I am also trying to get preggers (it will be two years this August). Anyone else in a similar situation? I just started trying to eat right and exercise. My husbands cholesterol was high so we are both dieting. I am sure losing weight could only help the getting pregnant but I also need something else to focus on as baby has been on the brain. Would appreciate any advice or input. Thanks

I'm 5'5 and started this journey at 142. Although my doctor said I was still in healthy BMI, i wanted to look better and fit back into some of my clothes. I am not trying to conceive, but if it happens, it happens.
If you do get pregnant, please consult a physician. You will need to eat more, in which case that means gain in majority of cases. I would try and lose the weight before the baby, but not diet during pregnancy.
But then again l've never been pregnant, I could totally be wrong. Just my medical advice. Check with a physician.0 -
Yes, losing weight can boost fertility but usually only if your much bigger. Not sure what your body fat is but you are already in the healthy range for your height. Have you gotten everything checked out to make sure you able to get pregnant? Usually if you've been trying for over a yr solid and nothing has happened yet, they recommend getting things checked out to make sure there aren't any issues hindering that.0

Hi,
Yes..I'm actually going through fertility treatment. Its not fun and it doesn't help that I'm an impatient person0 -
About getting pregnant- you need "the book". It is called "Taking charge of your fertility". That is how I got pregnant after 10 months of trying. Good luck and let me know how it goes!0
