Couple Questions?

I know I'm going to pull fire down on myself, but I have to chime in with the question -- are you sure your logging your mileage on that walk correctly? I'm not trying to "Shame" your workout -- I'm suggesting that perhaps you're walking more than you think you are. My GPS tracker sometimes "hiccups" and results in numbers that are seriously wrong. A block and a half around my subdivision is 1.5 miles, and spending 65 minutes to cover that distance, for me, would mean literally taking a step, pausing several seconds, taking another step, pausing several seconds, and so on. I especially note that you describe the walk as briskly.
If you were 18 and morbidly obese, I could see this. Or, if you were healthy weight and 75, I could see that too. But you're 18 and fairly close to a good weight, by my estimation. And you noted no health problems.
One last thing, before I am flagged and flamed -- if someone were sharing something about their diet that was heinously off-base in terms of calories, nutrients, or what have you, everyone would be very quick to point out that error, for the benefit of the OP. How many times do we read, "you're measuring wrong" or "get a scale!" That's all I feel I'm doing here. Sans a medical condition, 1.5 miles in 65 minutes seems incredibly unlikely. Thus, I believe there's a measurement error going on somewhere.
One thing about this. I'm only 125 lbs. so not overweight. I have terrible back problems -recently had to have another back procedure, which really helped. Prior to that, I was walking with a cane. I did a brain cancer 5K with my family (yes, I also have brain cancer) and walking with my cane, I came in dead last in the 'race' in a crowd of over 1000. Took me 90 minutes to walk the 3 miles.

Don't make assumptions.
I think, as with all discussions on exercise and diet, the caveat of medical conditions being an extenuating circumstance is a given, and if it's not, it should be. Zamphir did point out that the pace described is difficult to accept, "sans a medical condition."0 -

Which is why I said 'Don't make assumptions'. Does Zamphir know whether OP has a medical condition?0 -
I don't have a medical condition. That walk was probably a lot longer than the tracker said.0

No, of course not, but they did go out of their way to point out that their statement was based on the OP not having a medical condition. I'm just saying I don't think they were assuming anything. All else being equal, if someone says they only walked 1.5 miles in over an hour, my first thought is that their distance and/or time is wrong. Think horses, not zebras.I don't have a medical condition. That walk was probably a lot longer than the tracker said.
Thanks for clarifying, OP.0
