Injuries possibly due to losing weight

To start I am 5'9" and currently weigh 168. I increased activity with walking at first and have now started doing body weight workouts fairly intense, but not long in duration (10 min).
However I have a couple of injuries that keep resurfacing including a mild meniscus tear in my left knee which entails popping and weakness and some tendinitis in my right elbow.
Do you think that eating at maintenance is important to heal or is eating at a 250 calorie deficit acceptable? I've stopped doing upper body workouts to rest my arm. And am not doing exercises that stress the knee like one legged squats.
Any suggestions?

Continue to eat at a deficit. while you are healing, you can still continue to lose weight. The deficit does not mean you are not nutritionally sound.0 -

Agreed with both of the above. A 250 calorie deficit shouldn't affect your ability to heal0

That's what I was thinking. I just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the replies!0
