Need to bust my plateau!

Hi Everyone,

I'm just wondering if you have some tips and ideas as to how to break through a plateau? I've been dieting for the past 5 weeks, and lost 7.5lbs in the first 3 weeks, and then have essentially gone down and then up again, and have lost nothing in the last two weeks despite good exercise and eating habits!

According to my calculations, my deficit over the last two weeks should have been enough to lose just over 5 pounds, but the scales are showing nothing! I'm sticking at my diet and exercising despite not seeing results, but I want to know if there's something i'm missing, or if there's any explanation for this.

Although I know it's a slow and steady kind of thing, i'm really trying to get in shape and lose some serious pounds before I go on my holiday to vegas at the end of August, and if I can avoid any more delays in seeing those pounds disappear, I'd love to know how!

You aren't in a plateau. A lot of that 7 pounds was water and your body is still adjusting. So you lost 7 pounds in 5 weeks.... fantastic. If you go 2 months and not lose, then you can talk plateau. Good luck to you.

    Ok, thanks for your help.

It's just frustrating when I'm trying to work with a deadline haha! The first three weeks worked out perfectly according to my deficit calculations, and then the last couple of weeks not so great, so just wondered if there's something I'm totally missing or common reasons for weight not being lost as it should.
