My Weight Loss Box

Hi everyone,
So I've decided to have a "healthy section" in our house, a place where I know everything in it is all for me! I've called it my Weight Loss Box, it contains my healthy snacks, headphones for when I go to work out and my new measuring cups.
It's looking a little empty and sorry for itself though!! My fruit and veg obviously is staying in the fridge.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could fill it with?
Do you have your own "healthy section" and what does it contain?

Ooh, I have a box similar to this but it contains things to help me deal with anxiety. It was an idea from my therapist: you fill the box with one thing that's soothing for each sense. So there's some nice lotion for touch, a candle for sight, the candle also works for smell as it's an aromatherapy candle (orange rind/tamarind, my fave), a flash drive or mix CD with soothing music and a bell for hearing, and Japanese green tea for taste. Maybe you could put things like that in there too, for mental as well as physical health. Especially if you tend to be an emotional eater at all!
And of course you could put your digital scale in there if you use one, though it might be easier to have that handy on the counter.0 -
Yes, but in my house we call it the kitchen . Seriously though, you gotta do what works for you. For me, I learned don't buy none won't eat none. My kids are not dying because I feed them healthy food and they enjoy fresh fruits as snacks. I"m not an ogre; they get treats from time to time. Just not everyday - everyday isn't a treat, it is standard operating procedure. But, anyway, yea, you gotta do what works for you. The "Mine" box is a pretty neat idea.

Every year I take a drive to see my folks, it's 3 days of driving. Driving is one of my struggles, as I always seem to have the urge to shove something into my mouth. So, instead of stopping at convenience stores and buying junk, or just driving with nothing being kinda on edge, I started packing a bag for each day filled with snacks that are pre-measured and "me-approved." I try to provide a variety of textures and tastes so I can have my pick. Here are some of the things I've found that would also go good in your Box:
I found these little "sticks" of chocolate and peppermint, they're like a narrow straw of thin peppermint (think candy-cane type thing) dipped in dark chocolate. They come individually-wrapped in boxes of like 20-30. Each one is something like 15 calories or something low like that. They're nice because they give you that minty + chocolate taste, last awhile because you're sucking on the peppermint stick, and they're low-cal. Great driving snack or when you want a hit of something sweet. Think I found them at Big Lots, but Walgreens or WalMart may also have something like that.
Bought a big (cheaper) thing of nuts and pre-measured 2-oz or a serving size in small baggies. Grab and go.
Dried fruit, same as the nuts. I love figs, dates, cherries, and apricots; separate into baggies.
90-calorie Rice Krispy Bars, just because they're Rice Krispy bars and 90 calories.
Pre-measured yogurt-covered raisins or dried cranberrries.
Made my own spicy dried chick-peas (drain a can of them, pat dry, toss in a bowl with your favorite spices like cinnamon/Splenda or hot-spicy or just salt, and bake on a cookie sheet until they're dry and crunchy). Same deal, pre-measure in baggies.
Fiber One brownies.
Dried soynuts, dried peas...
I'd also probably buy some of those peanut butter + pretzels snack things nowadays.
The rest of my snacks are usually reserved for coolers, i.e. veggies, hummus, iced tea, cheese...
