I'm diabetic and I use Splenda! But if I wasn't diabetic I prefer honey...artificial sweeteners can cause irritation in the gut that can cause diarrhea ...ect so even I try to use it sparingly and NOT everyday. If the extra calories are really bothering you try decreasing the amount...there are 3 tsp in 1 tablespoon, so try putting 2 teaspoons instead and slowly reduce it!

I use honey or maple syrup to sweeten my hot drinks.
I find that artificial sweetners have a strange aftertaste.

Personally, I'm pro sugar, best compromise for taste/cals in my opinion.

But plain green tea is really nice, have you tried it like that? If I wanted to dress it up, I'd add mint and sugar (like Moroccan tea).

I too like my tea sweet. And I've been using sweeteners with no worries at all. And I've been doing it for years. Saves me the cals and gives me the taste. I prefer sweetex though. Oh and I'm not diabetic or anything it's simply for the purpose of weight loss.
