Garmin Problems

Is it possible for a Garmin to "fill up"? As in, I was terrible about actually downloading my workouts to my computer (my last upload was September 1, 2012). It turns on but before it even gets to "locating satellites," it shuts off. When I plug it in to charge, it says "Charging" but shows 100% battery level. I've plugged in the Ant Agent to my computer and my Garmin says "transferring data" now. The Ant app on my computer says the transfer is 23% complete. It's a Garmin 310XT and I've never had a problem with it before now. It's only 1 1/2 years old. Is it possible that it filled up it's memory as a result of my failure to upload online? I can't find it in the Garmin FAQs online...and I have a race in less than 2 weeks. HELP.

Make sure that the timer isn't still running from some long forgotten workout. I had troubles uploading and this turned out to be the problem.

The memory may be full and if that's the case its going to take a long time to download it all through Ant Agent. However, that isn't going to cause it charging problems nor will it cause it to shut off. That is something else and you should probably contact Garmin Support about it.

FIlling up the memory won't prevent you from saving new workouts either. The newest ones simply overwrite the oldest ones.

Have you tried asking in the Garmin forum for the 310XT? It's at:

This video shows how to do a soft and hard reset; if you haven't tried that, I would give it a go:

I would log into the website, upload all of your workouts, and then delete them afterwards. I would leave it hooked up over night.
