A healthy weight is key for my other health goals

I just started using My Fitness Pal, although I have used other food/weight/exercise trackers. I like the web site and mobile applications, so here's hoping the ease and convenience helps me to stay faithful to tracking! My goal is to lose 37 pounds so my sore knee has less weight to carry, and I can ward off diabetes and high blood pressure. I am striving to exercise more, too. I am hoping to lose 2 pounds a week and exercise at least 5 times a week. I love to garden, so my garden should draw me into even more exercise before the snow flies! I have an elliptical machine at home and I like to lift weights, and do yoga and pilates at home. Going to fitness centers has never worked for me.

I am looking for a few friends or a community that will provide encouragement and accountability.
