Healthy Goal Weights: My Revelation

I need to be honest with myself.
110 lbs., my current set "goal weight", is not only highly unrealistic based on many factors like my body composition and living a truly happy and healthy life, but it's also going to be a *kitten* to manage. I have to remind myself that lean muscle weighs more than fat, and my goal is to look good and feel good-- not to be pleased by the "thinness" I've achieved based on weight.
About 2.5 years ago, I was 121 lbs, one of the lowest weights in my body-conscious life, but it was definitely me at my unhealthiest. It was a feat achieved by almost a year of just vicious restricting (*cough*starving*cough*) and binging alone. My weight fluctuated greatly for the years following. I realized I had a problem and needed to find a balance. I focused on getting happy first, and right now, at an active 150 lbs, I fit the clothes I had just the same-- hell, I maybe even look better in them now, simply because I also have a much healthier mindset than I did those 2 years ago. Getting slimmer and weighing more are ***not mutually exclusive.***
Physical and mental health is more important than numbers on a scale. Once you improve those things, a rocking body comes along as just the cherry on top of your personal success.
My new goal is going to be 125, which puts me at a healthy BMI for my height and won't have me crying everyday trying to maintain it.
I'm just really happy that I'm happy. That's the best thing I'm getting out of doing this the right way. Don't look for numbers. Look for glowing skin, better check-ups, a bigger smile, self-love, and a new-found enjoyment for life. The numbers can come later.
Stay healthy, loves!

Thank you for the positive words! I think we all beat ourselves up when we have failures on our diets and goals. But really you are totally right! I will remember to be happy with all ll the little changes like healthier eating than ever, more muscle, and the many things I've learned along the way.0
