A little bit over it all now...

So my story goes a little like this: lost nearly 20kg, over 18 months, have stalled the last few months, have tried stepping up weights, now have an elbow injury and have to rest it, along with this I run 5k at least once or twice every week, play soccer.
For over 3 months my calorie intake I have only been over 2.1k calories 6 times, highest being 2.5k (one blow out day)
I took lots of advice on board from previous posts and I find it really difficult to eat recognised calorie goal each day, and have taken to snacking on natural fruit and nut mix, to get me back up there.
So I would be really interested to find out what everyone else does when they struggle to eat calories when they train, and they have serious plateaus, longer than 3 months?
Is it just a case of too much alcohol? Shall I just accept my pre-disposed genetics tell me I will never be under 75 kgs, and 20% body fat at the age of 45 and only 5'8" I mean how do all these famous people in their mid 40s do it??
Lots of questions I know…….. I am so frustrated right now, I might just go back to my old ways and then lose it again after I get up to 96kgs, seemed a lot easier then!

75 kg for a 45 year male is a big ask. You don't think you have aimed too high??0

I don't think he has, I'm a shade under 185 cm's and 10 years ago I got to 77 kg, aiming for 80 this time and keeping it there.0 -
I would suggest there was a hint of sarcasm in the reply :-)
All good though, will just keep battling away, my original post was borne out of frustration more than anything else.0
