Sodium verse sweating

In the summer should you cut your sodium back? I tend to swell in my feet more in the summer months. I am currently working on a project in Nanjing China where the heat and humudity take your breath away. I usually watch my sodium intake any way and I do not put salt on my food. But I am concerned about the extra heat and sweat verses sodium intake.

Now, I may be wrong, but I would think with all the extra sweating/heat, you would need sodium, not less sodium?

Eat your salt, your kidneys will figure it out. If you have high blood pressure or kidney issues you might want to be concerned about salt, but otherwise you're built to manage it.

    Was gonna say this too!

I sweat like a champ when I work out, and I don't even count my sodium!

No health concerns already, then no worries!

Thanks no health issue...good information now I have to get the foot to stop swelling....it is usually contributed to sodium....maybe it is a combo of the heat and the chinese food.
