It does on the bottom of the diary webpage and in the nutrition tab of the app.

I bet its a My Fitness Pal Plus feature, but no, there is no way to change the default. Cutting calories will cause you to lose weight, cutting carb will not (as much)

It would seem counter productive for MFP to do this since counting carbs won't give you an accurate picture of your diet and won't cause a person to lose weight automatically.

It does for me, at the bottom of the page... or on the phone on the diary/nutrition page.

    Just sayin'

Pretty sure this is true. Browse the features of upgrading-I think you can add it to your home screen

You can turn off the posting for the calories (I think) or just not close. And then you could post a message "stayed within my carbs!" if you want your friends to know. It's not burdensome to see the carbs--they are on the diary page anyway, aren't they?

I don't see why you wouldn't want to count calories as well as carbs, but up to you.

why would you not keep track of your calories? i'm guessing you are going low carb or ketogenic? the math is the same. to burn away fat, you still need to spend more energy than you consume. And by just counting carbs you only get 1/4 of the picture. And do not forget to track the protein.

You can change where you have carbs so that they are easier to spot.
For example in addition to calories, I am focusing on (1) protein and (2) fats so I have them on the right and next to each
other so that I can do a quick check when I am pre-planning the day before.

Carbs are just one macro. You want to track macros, but you need to count overall calories, or you won't know how much you are eating. You will gain weight if you eat too many calories.
