How can I improve?

I've been Thai Boxing for about 3 weeks now, (can only afford 1 lesson a week so far), and really enjoying it. Finally starting to feel like I know what I'm doing. However I've not seen any significant weight loss or muscle increase since even before I started and have remained at about 9st 8lbs. I try to practice my combos a little every day to get technically better, but am I not doing enough cardio in between, like walking? Sometimes I think I'm doing really well throughout the week, then feel like I'm dying at the end of a session. I've got dumbbells that only go up to 3kg, and I can use the 1kg or 2kg fine. I'm only short but want to look more athletically built. I know I've got abs in here somewhere!

My diet is reasonable. I'm eating about 80% vegetarian though so maybe I need to increase my protein? When I do eat meat, it's always lean and not processed, like steak, lamb, or grilled salmon. I don't eat poultry or pork. Any tips? Thanks!

It seems that you are interested in body composition to look more athletic.

You will get a lot of posts about resistance or weight training as an add-on to the activity you have.
I suggest you look here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/10067-eat-train-progress-

The group can outline info on protein needs and achieving your goals.

Thank you, I will check that group out! It's just a bit frustrating when you feel like you're doing loads of work but see no results! It's all down to me changing things though.
