i am unsure if this is the right section.
Basically, I bought a Fitbit flex and I love how it's logging my steps and its decinately keeping me motivated for steps.
Plus linking it to MFP acc is really helping.

However, I have followed their hygiene and cleaning conditions but I am breaking out in really bad rashes. I've switched wrists but same issue happens on that too as well as making sure it's not on too tight and take off for showers and at times sleep.y96ojebha7yk.jpg

I've contacted fitbit but got a genetic "make sure you clean the strap" message.
Ive bought other similar bands but it's not helped.

I'm hoping people have seen this issue before and could suggest alternative places to either wear so it is still effective or alternative bands to use - I'm one scratch away from knitting a band for it :(

I've had no problem with my band so I can't offer any advice from experience, sorry. I do know some people put the tracker in their pocket but I'm not sure I'd totally trust that for accuracy. Ditto wearing it on their ankle, though I guess your skin is still going to be sensitive there. I know someone who was allergic to nickle and she would coat the underside of her watch with clear nail varnish.

Have you tried wearing it over a wrist/sweat band, so that the Fitbit isn't actually touching your skin but is still in the right place? Would that work?

I haven't tried a sweat band yet, I might give that a go.
I can wear Watches and jewellery fine but I've never broken out like this before. Sadly the top picture was a week ago and the rash is still present despite the band not being on my wrist.

At present, it's dangling off the cord on my top but I believe this won't be giving an accurate reading and a bit concerned putting the transmitter inside my bra incase it isn't safe.
but thanks, I'll try the sweatband and see if this helps.

They have these cloth wristbands now that hold the trackers. I'm not sure what brand makes them but it's not fitbit. I've seen them at target I think they are $10 for a three pack

Amazon has a lot of different brands for bands, lol. Some are even metal. :)

Maybe this is your excuse to buy one of those designer bands by Tori Burch on the fitbit.com. :) I would like one but for $140?? ((faint)).

For others having problems, here are the guidelines: https://www.fitbit.com/productcare
    • Regularly clean your band with water, a small amount of rubbing alcohol, or a soap-free cleanser (like Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser or Aquanil).

    • Wear the band loosely enough that it can move back and forth on your wrist.

    • Remove the band for an hour after extended wear.

    • If you start to experience redness or skin irritation on your wrist, remove your device. If symptoms persist longer than 2–3 days, contact a dermatologist.
