There used to be a really useful thread for it, but that seems to have disappeared...
1. Upload the picture to somewhere like Photobucket or Imgur or wherever.
2. Copy the image URL. This will end in .jpg, or whatever file type your picture is. To do this, right-click the picture after it's uploaded and click 'copy image URL' (if the copy image URL option isn't there, open the image in a new tab and copy the URL. Then get a better browser).
3. Back here, put the image in img tags, like this (without the spaces): [ img ] http://imageurl.jpg [ /img ]. So if I wanted to embed your profile pic, the code would be (without the spaces):
[ img ] http://dakd0cjsv8wfa.cloudfront.net/images/photos/user/9306/695e/6bdb/7459/f982/326a/5800/bb69762d878e853e62b89dc8ca541200636d.jpg [ /img ]
Note that your picture will display at the size that it is, it won't automatically resize or anything to fit the forum. If you need to resize it, either resize it before uploading it or I think Photobucket has resize options.
Hope that makes sense lol0
