New bathroom scale - different weight

I have been using an old bathroom scale with a dial. I questioned its accuracy because the weight reading changes by 5 lbs if I lean forward or backward. I finally invested in a digital scale, and am getting readings about 6 lbs heavier than with the old one.
I trust the new scale because it makes more sense in regards to how my clothes fit. Still, I am not sure if I should immediately start logging my corrected weight. Aside from the psychological effect of seeing what looks like a sudden weight gain, I'm wondering if the change will mess up the MyFitnessPal algorhythm or something.
Advice?

I would go backwards and edit all of my old weights up by 6 pounds. Not that that is a perfect solution but it would make me feel better to be able to see the trend even if weights were a bit off.0
