I keep falling off the band wagon and I think its because of HUGE changes. So I wanted to set a small goal for myself. My goal is to cut back on high calorie/low micro drinks. I was wondering if you see this as a right step or side step. My daily cals seem to be at 2500-3000 but I haven't log in a while.

Quick notes too: I skip breakfast, drink maybe a kickstart (80 cals) or coffee once a day, eat a sandwich or two for lunch and a serving of chicken cooked up by my awesome girlfriend at night with subtle snacking (chips, pretzels)

Any other ideas are good too.

Weigh your food and log everything. Subtle snacking can add up QUICKLY. You don't know what you have to cut back on if you're not logging. Be 100% honest about what you are consuming and you may be surprised where your calories are coming from.
Take a week or two and don't eat at a deficit. Just see what you are eating adds up to. Then see where you can cut back. If removing calorie drinks from your plan looks like it would make a dent, do that.

I think what I just get tired of over time is logging it all. But ive weighed out stuff. I went from eating a bag to a small bowl worth of chips. Seconds kill me though haha. I guess the best passive way to do it would be buy low cal stuff and snack on there more. Youre entirely right though

But, the good thing is that once you've logged enough, you'll know in the back of your mind what a regular day looks like for you.

If you are like me, I typically eat the same 10-15 meals on a circulating basis every week for dinner & lunch, and my breakfast is always the same. I typically go for the same snacks, too. This leaves eating out & drinking as pretty much the only variable.

I have unfortunately gotten out of the habit of weighing and portioning, and logging my food so I am about to have to go through all of the "My Recipes" crap again to get a good idea of what I'm taking in versus what I'm burning. It is a real hassle, but I have found that it helps me when trying to lose weight.

    Good luck, duder.
