without an open diary, no one can give decent advice...however, it's unlikely you will ever hit the macros perfectly.
The MOST IMPORTANT of the three is protein. As long as you are getting .8g of protein per lb of body weight, the other macros are not as important. Some prefer higher carbs, some prefer higher fats. That's all dependent on what works better for you after some trial.
Eat what you like, as long as it fits within your calorie goals!

The only macro that matters is Protein. Cut out some foods to absolutely make sure that you eat your protein.0

I have that same problem! I normally reach my protein gaol, but the others surpass my goal I've found that eating less hamburger and pork does help though....maybe try that (I'm not expert though).0

The MFP goals are based on recommended macro allowences for a standard diet. Go to settings and adjust the percents to get higher protein, lower carbs and fat. The us dietary guidelines are outdated and not the most appropriate for those eating in a calorie deficit.0

Protein I always go over 45 / day.
Change your settings!
Fats are ok as long as they are good fats and not from processed foods /chips/cookies/fast food.
Fats in processed foods are fine, just try to avoid toooo much saturated/trans fats. Nothing wrong with chips, cookies,or fast food, as long as it is withing you calorie goals. Just be aware these have a higher concentration of fat to protein, so it makes it harder to meet the protein goals while staying withing your calorie goals!0 -

You're saying there's nothing wrong with trans fats that come in many processed foods like chips, cookies, and fast food?0 -

corrected to add trans, though that is mostly what saturated fat is. And in moderation, not really. Not the best fats, but oreos wont kill you if they fit within your goals. Calories are calories, and ultimately that's what matters becuase as your calories come down, so does all that other stuff.0 -
Calories are calories, yes, but that statement has nothing to do with nutrition. Trans fats should be avoided at all costs if you want to be as healthy as you can be. It's the one "food" I would say that "moderation" is zero.0

How can you be under your calories but above your macros?0

I don't agree, sorry. Trans fats every so often won't hurt. Trans fats every day might.0 -

You can avoid the ones with transfats. I believe it's not in all that much stuff anymore.
Being processed or not really isn't the issue. Lots of processed food lacks transfats (like, e.g., yogurt or a sandwich from Pret or bowl from Chipotle or millions of other things). I dislike how "processed" is used as this meaningless synonym for "bad."0 -

I said many processed foods because that was what the original term used in the tread. I agree though, most food is processed and there's not really anything wrong with processed foods unless things like trans fats are added to them.MarziPanda95 wrote: »galgenstrick wrote: »Calories are calories, yes, but that statement has nothing to do with nutrition. Trans fats are not safe for human consumption. Period. And they are being phased out of foods by the FDA for that reason. That's why I recommend that they should not be consumed in any amount.

if you're over on all your macros then it is impossible for you to be within your calorie targets. this would mean that you are using erroneous items from the data base.0
