Sodium Intake

Hello, I believe this is the correct place to ask this question. Almost daily, my sodium intake is higher than what it should be (Not always by much, but always over) however I do go to the gym or work out almost daily as well and I sweat quite a lot, I burn from 2,500 to 3,500 calories and almost always walk 10,000 steps (Or run or sprint or what ever i do at the gym) or more. My question is, should I be more careful with my sodium intake, or should I allow myself a little extra because of my high level of activity and amount of sweating?

LOOL @ sodium macro. I don't know if I have met the suggested level. If you are in weight loss mode concentrate on calories in vs calories out.0

Do you have a medical issue and have to avoid salt?
Yes than it could be a problem ( that problem can be solved by cooking your own food without salt..that makes a huge difference)
When not dont worry about it.

What TheOwlhouseDesigns said.
But I must ask... what exercise are you doing to burn 2,500 to 3,500 calories?!
Are you sure you don't mean kilojoules?0 -

Sorry, I think I confused you, my fitbit takes my basic metabolic rate and then adds the calories I burn so when I say I burn that daily I mean on top of my metabolism. So exercise wise I burn about 800-1200 calories a day0 -

Unless you have a medical condition where you should be avoiding sodium, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I will caution, that for myself, too much sodium causes water retention. Means the scale bites!0

Yeah, I Get some pretty significant water retention from high sodium, which is one of the reasons why I don't think the sodium is a problem cause I haven't experienced any water retention recently. Thanks for your answer0 -
Increase potassium and water intake. Should be fine unless you have a medical issue.0
