I don't know if its the heat, being on my hands and knees, or the motion of ripping out weeds but I pour sweat the whole time doing it.. Does anyone have any good data on possible benefits/calories burned from good ole fashioned hands and knees weeding?

I have a book that lumps yard work and gardening as burning the same amount of calories. If you log exercise just choose gardening general. That's what I do anyway.

MFP calculates calorie burn for gardening. Isn't weeding part and parcel of the same? (I count it as such.)

I live in Florida, just sitting outside I sweat majorly, no extra calories burned, otherwise everybody living in Florida would be toothpicks. I'm sure you burn some calories, but I don't count them, I just do real exercises, walking and lifting. :)

I just can't see gardening as a general term. Tilling does not equal raking/hoeing does not equal planting does not equal fertilizing.. And so on.. The activities are waaaay to different.
