Hey. Does vietnamese chicken rice noodle bowl only have 400cals???? Also the 2 i tried entering today had one saying only 20 carbs and the other said 75 carbs....i normally take 1 unit of insulin per 10 grams of carbs but taking an educated guess on carb amounts i took 5 units for this meal... (5 units for 50g of carbs) It made my blood sugar a little bit high so it prob woulda worked great if i took 7 units for 70g of carbs....
fyi: this food was purchased at a carnival...i think i did pretty good there today by eating string beans and a kiwi and this vietnamese dish. You shoulda seen all the fat and sugar stuff there omg!!!!! Mmmmmm!!!!!
Anyway back to the point of post: what is the real deal with cals and carbs for vietnamese chicken rice noodle bowl with fish sauce? ???

If they're user entries in the database (which is most likely) the data can be way off. Since Vn noodle bowls vary a lot in terms of ingredients and amounts at restaurants, any calorie count will be a wild guess unless the restaurant posts nutrition data.

Also, food from carnivals tend to vary more in terms of ingredients and portions, so there's not likely to be a good estimate.

Pick an entry that looks reasonable, and double it.

ok but i only ate about 3/4 of it so should i just turn the estimated 400cals into 600 then?
Its gonna put me 200 cals over for the day though and i still need to eat 100 more cals of greek yogurt before bed. ...

Make the best estimate you can, since it's a guess at this point. Sometimes (especially with food trucks and carnivals) all you can do is make an educated guess.

Unless your deficit is very small (.5 lb/wk), the worst case is you're eating near maintenance. Maybe you can put the yogurt off until tomorrow.

If you set MFP for .5 lb/wk, that's 1750 calorie deficit per week, or 250/day. That sounds about where you're at, more or less.

Also remember, it's deficit over time that loses the weight. Even if you go over your maintenance for one day by a few hundred calories, you still have a deficit for the week (just a little smaller than you were trying for).

Log what you can, go back to your routine.
