Bent over row VS lying down row

Is there any difference from a muscle use, efficiency point of view between a traditional barbell bent over row, and a lying down row?

My lower back rounds slightly when attempting a bent over row, so i've been advised against using that lift. Instead i've been doing single arm dumbbell rows. I'm looking to find alternatives.

Seated cable rows, one or two handed, are a good alternative to barbell rows, with proper form.

You'd be using your core muscles more to stabilize the bent over row. Is your bent back an anatomical problem, or lack of strengh in your lower back? - in that case you should be able to work on it...
