I work in a fast food place full time. One of the "perks" to working there is a certain amount of food we are allowed to get for free. After nine years being there, I'm far from excited about the food, but I also can't afford much else. I do what I can to watch what I eat there, but it is still difficult. Any suggestions from fellow people in this situation? Some meals I have thought to bring on my own aren't ideal or convenient.

I guess if you don't want to eat the food from your work, you have to bring it like everyone else lol.
Maybe look up some ideas for cheap meal prep that you can do for the week to prepare? Things like chicken, rice, beans, and frozen veggies can be affordable options & meals you can prepare in the slow cooker. Or just keep an eye out for what's on sale in your local store. I'm sure if you search the "Food & Nutrition" board there will be plenty of ideas!
I've never worked in fast food, but I used to work at a mall where the only options were pizza, burgers, or Chick Fil A & I got sick of that pretty fast!

check out some threads on here using the search feature for keywords in topics like "eating on the road", travelling, meals to go, work lunches, commuting, shift work, etc - there are loads of MFP peeps who have to eat on the road, take foods that won't spoil and don't need to be heated, or easily portable, etc... and budget friendly ideas as well - loads of MF pals have shared their ideas on the forums so should be lots of options to help ya out! :)

Thanks to both of you. I will check out other topics on here. I'm not that familiar with blogging so I didn't know there was a quick topic search feature lol
