Try to be more specific with exactly what you mean by "tone" before people come in picking at your semantics. Do you want to lose fat in certain areas? or make skinny areas more muscle-y?

Do you have a decent base of muscle? If yes, then lose weight. If no, then look into doing a recomp.

Your within 5 lbs. of your goal, which I will assume is a healthy weight based on BMI ....

So, you are already lean, and since you state a desire to "tone up", I imagine your lacking muscle definition, and possibly "skinny fat".

The easiest way to get started solving that situation is a full body strength training routine, coupled with proper nutrition to support it. Your looking to add muscle while reducing fat ( lower BMI ), to have a more firm and trim appearance.

You can find all kinds of these recommended beginner workouts, with a quick online search. Some popular ones are Stronglifts 5x5, StrongCurves, ICF 5x5 and others.

Hey. Try to perform plank position. Very easy to perform, difficult to sustain workout. The best part is that you need to start with just 30 sec of plank. Gradually you can increase the time. One of the best workouts for toned torso.

I've started it and can tell you that I feel good each time I do a plank.

I've posted a link below, it is from mensfitness website but it applies to women as well

Try it if you like the idea.
