Too Many Excuses!!

I was exercising 3x a week for a few weeks in a row, swimming and walking, and hoping to increase the frequency - but I've ended up avoiding the gym for over 7 days now. Even convincing myself to get out of the house just to get out of the house gets excuses, and like today I stay in on the computer doing NoThing.

I had an upset stomach yesterday, so I used that to excuse not exercising. It might sound not too bad, as it was a very upset stomach. But I feel like I'm all excuses. If I only got 4h of sleep, I'm not going. I have a headache - I'm not going. I sometimes give myself a headache going back and forth between "I'm going" and "I'm not going".

I want to make going to the gym a routine not a daily decision I angst over for hours. How do you motivate yourself to get up and out, and make the excuses shut up?

I know that feeling, its so easy to make an excuse to not go and do your workout and before you know it, a week has passed just like you described.
I had a similar issue and decided to look at things that other people did to ensure they went for their workout and decided to incorporate some of them into my life and it actually worked.

*Write down how you feel after you have finished a workout (that rush of endorphins and all the pumped up energy - makes you feel awesome) and then you can go back to that on the days you dont feel up to it

*Remember why you started - for instance with me, it was how everytime i tried on clothes I just felt fat and frumpy and was sick of feeling that way and seeing myself in the mirror.

*Surround yourself with motivational and positive people or even get a motivational workout buddy to help drag you along on the days where it just seems like too much trouble. Having people to spur you on will make anyone finish their workout.

*Give yourself mini challenges to complete on a weekly basis and then track your success' by writing it down. When you hit a target or a goal treat yourself.
    - A spa day, hair treatment, shopping trip etc.... something that gives you a boost to keep going

You may find something helpful from the above but either was I hope you find something that works for you and you can get back into it. Good Luck doll
