Bike Racks for Apartment

My fiance and I both have bikes (I have a mountain bike and he has a road bike) and we are looking for a good yet inexpensive bike rack that can hold both our bikes and be kind of unobtrusive. (He was this brilliant plan to make wooden ones with bookshelves on top. )
Any recommendations?

My husband made a hanging one using a piece of wood screwed into the cieling of our laundry room (make sure he screws it into a joint not just cieling plaster) then screwed in 2 heavy duty hooks from Home Depot. We hang the bikes from the wheels. I wish I had a picture but hope you get the idea. You can google it to get an idea too.0

I like it when people hang them on the wall and make them part of the decor. Like this, which is just a mount made out of pvc pipe:

Here's a link showing bikes on the wall in a nicely decorated space. They add to the decor rather than junk it up bc they are so neatly mounted. http://freshome.com/2011/07/28/15-practical-and-unobtrusive-ideas-to-park-your-bike-indoors/0 -
