What would you do if you were not afraid?

I asked myself this question and my answer was, "write down all the food I ate even if I exceeded the allowed amount." In the past I quit because I could not face the truth. If you are like me, let's motivate each other to stick to writing down every bite. Bring on the accountability.

I had this exact experience but not because I was afraid of the truth, I am a perfectionist and was afraid I would not do it 100% accurately. Then I tried it and even though I know I know I'm not 100% accurate it has been so awesome!

Similar to you, I said "I will eat whatever I want, but I will log it all as accurately as I can". But seeing the data and the numbers just clicks with me so well that the motivations just hit and hasn't stopped yet

I am encouraged by your words! I will keep on tracking even if it hurts to see the truth. I may discover I'm not perfect

And if you were then there'd be nothing to improve and where's the fun in that?

Your body reflects what you eat even if your MFP account doesn't. So be honest and SEE what you are putting in your body. 1 day to the next, going over doesn't do the damage you think it will. So be honest. The days I go over, and I click the "complete today's entries" and it gives the "if every day were like today" I 90% of the time would still lose weight in those 5 weeks. Maybe not 10 lbs, but it would still be a downward trend. Isn't that what we want anyway?
So keep logging, log accurately, and when you slip up? Log it anyway and find out how you can LEARN from it, not how to punish yourself!

That's really solid advice. I'm brand new here. The first time MFP shared what I'll weigh with this type of eating, I was floored; today's choices would be tomorrow's results. In that moment I was hooked.

    Dm1174,
Friend me and stay in touch through out the day. I will hold your virtual hand and not let you fall. Your first day will pave the way for the rest of your life.

    GREAT question, & great challenge

One of my recent resolved is to be 100% honest with myself. Anything less doesn't make sense.
