How did this happen.... massive running improvement 24 hours later

Yesterday I went running on my 3.55 mile route round my area. It took about 33 mins. Nothing unusual. Then today I decided to do it one day after to see what would happen... would it kill me, would it be better?
To my shock I managed to do it in 29 and a half mins. The whole thing felt different, like I wasn't even trying, and I beat - no thrashed - my PB. How did this happen, is there a science behind it or was it just a very good day?

You will have up days and down days.
Check your food- did you carb up at some point accidentally that you didn't realize?
was it more humid?
good tunes?
could be anything honestly.0 -
Yeah when I run it always seems so random how well i'm able to do. Only things that seem to consistently change it is whether I've eaten enough/drank enough water in the day or so period before doing the run.0

Maybe adrenaline? When I feel like I'm racing anyone (even myself) I tend to perform much better.0

I was wondering. I made a concerted effort to drink water during the day for the first time in a long while. Didn't realise it would have this kind of effect though.
