trying to stay on track during a business trip

I am going to be leaving for a 6 day business trip at the beginning of July. I will be near Washington D.C. and I have never been there before. I do really good when I am at home, but eating out is hard for me. I plan to take fruit and yogurt for breakfast. I am pretty good at sticking to my plan with lunch. My biggest concern is dinner. I am also a dessert person. Any suggestions on how to keep myself on track? My first thought was to bring healthy snacks so that by the time I get to dinner I am not ravenous. What are some great low calorie restaurant dinners?

I feel very fortunate that my boss understands how important it is to me to stay on track even while traveling. She got my co-worker and me a hotel with a pool and fitness center.

There is no secret to eating right. It's just a conscious decision you make no matter where you are. I live in DC and like everywhere else, each restaurant has healthy and unhealthy food. Keep some trail mix with you so you're never starving in between meetings. I have no idea how many calories you get a day, but you can get a egg white and cheese sandwich on a skinny bagel from Au Bon Pain for about 230, half a sandwich and fruit at Corner Bakery for 400 and then have plenty left over for a 500 calorie dinner. (I'm just going off the bare 1200 calories).

Those are just chain restaurants off the top of my head. We have amazing restaurants here. It's all about planning and portion control. Don't stress yourself out. Get in some HIIT or gym time if you are that worried.
