Food allergies

Anybody out there with food allergies? I'm allergic to dairy. I got diagnosed a year and a half ago. It's made eating healthy hard. I used to eat yogurt and cheese all the time. I started eating carbs and packed on the weight. I am working hard now at counting my marcos and eating lower carb and healthy fat.

Dairy allergies are a tough one too manage. Is it an anaphylactic allergy?0

Never had allergies before. All of a sudden I am now deathly allergic to peanuts, and to a lesser degree raspberries. And who knows what else (should get my test results this week). Annoying.0

It's not anaphylactic which I am thankful for.0

Phew.
The Low Carber Daily Forum, in the groups of MFP is a helpful place to go to talk LC, if you want to find like minded people.

Eating healthy has gotten a little trickier with age. I'm now allergic (not diagnosed, just quite a few unpleasant meals) to avocadoes, bananas, watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, walnuts, and recently had a reaction to raw carrots. From a whole lot of Google-ing, it seems to have to do with my seasonal allergies. And since it's not official, it's been a lot of trial and error - like the carrots.0

Freaking cantaloupe! Makes my throat and lips itch and my husband nervous. It's killing me now because there are a ton of great smelling Pecos cantaloupes in the stores now.0

Checking out low carber daily forum now. Thanks for the tip. I have a some fruit to avoid and a ton of raw food doesn't go though the pipes the best. It's like navigating a mine field. The calorie counting here is really helping. I'm not as low carb as I thought.0

My daughter is allergic to milk protein. She won't eliminate it, says the itchy rash is worth it! LOL!
I'm lactose intolerant, I think. I can't have milk or yoghurt. Cheese is OK as long as its not aged. IBS.
Gluten is off limits. I am gluten sensitive. IBS.
Soy causes IBS
No food with tyramine. Aged cheese, packaged meats, nuts, chocolate, any thing that is a bit old, like bananas or avocado's that can have proteins that are broken down into tyramine. Causes migraines.
I have had enough uncomfortable symptoms that I find other things to eat.
My suggestion its it's find a few go to foods. I get hungry, don't plan meals and give in to something like pizza. High cal and foods that should not be in my diet. So, I keep frozen blueberries for snacking or smoothies, coconut/almond silk, and protein powder- you'd probably have to find one soy based if you do smoothies. OJ will work too. Good luck!0
